Advertising policy

What ads on FOLQIN may and may not show, and how ads are reviewed.

Every ad is reviewed

Every new or changed ad is checked by the FOLQIN team before it runs, usually within a working day. If an ad is not approved you see the reason in Ads Manager, can change the ad and send it again, or ask for a second look.

Ads must

  • Say clearly who is advertising and what is offered.
  • Send people where the ad says (the listing, event, company page, form, conversation or website shown).
  • Show work the advertiser has the right to use, and credit the people who made it.
  • Follow the Community Guidelines and the Professional Listings Policy.

Ads may not

  • Sell counterfeit goods, "first copies" or replicas, or use brands the advertiser does not own.
  • Promise guaranteed earnings, jobs, castings or followers.
  • Ask for money to apply for a job, casting or course without saying so plainly.
  • Show nudity or sexual content, or use models under 18 in a sexualised way.
  • Mislead about prices, discounts, certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX and others) or where goods are made.
  • Collect passwords, card numbers or identity documents, in the ad or in an instant form.
  • Promote weapons, drugs, tobacco, gambling, crypto investments or loans.

Instant forms and messages

An instant form shows the member exactly what the advertiser will receive, filled in from their Passport, and nothing is sent until they press Submit. Advertisers may use the answers only to reply about what the ad offered. Conversations from click-to-message ads follow the usual messaging rules: the member writes first, and either side can stop.

Targeting

Audiences are built from what members show on FOLQIN: profession, place, interests, what they look for on the Professional wall, and how they are connected to you. Nobody can be targeted by health, religion, politics, sexuality or ethnicity. Audiences smaller than 1,000 people show as "fewer than 1,000" and reports group small groups as Other.

Members stay in control

Every ad is marked Sponsored and offers "Why am I seeing this ad?", Hide and Report. Members can turn personalised ads off in Settings, Ads.
