Spot sourcing scams
The warning signs of fake suppliers, fake buyers and payment fraud.
Fraud in sourcing follows a few patterns. Watch for these signs:
- Pressure to pay in advance in full, especially by gift card, crypto or a personal account.
- Changed bank details in the middle of a deal, often in an email that looks like your supplier's. Always confirm a change by a call to a number you already know.
- Prices far below the market for the material or quantity.
- Moving the deal off FOLQIN right away, to a personal WhatsApp or email.
- Stolen photos: the same pictures on other sellers' listings.
- Brand-name goods at "replica", "first copy" or "mirror quality".
Protect yourself
- Prefer verified members with confirmed credits and a trust history.
- Ask for swatches or samples first, and pay a deposit rather than the full amount.
- Report anything suspicious. You help protect everyone.
