Account standing, warnings and strikes
What happens when rules are broken, and where to check your account.
Open Account standing in Settings to see whether your account is in good standing, any limits, and the history of decisions about it.
How it works
When something you shared breaks a rule, we remove it and you get a strike with the rule's name. A strike counts for 90 days.
- First strike: a warning.
- Second: limits for 7 days (no posts, listings, events or messages to people you are not connected with).
- Third: suspension for 7 days. Fourth: 30 days.
- Continued abuse: the account can be closed permanently. A person always decides this.
The most serious harms (child safety, threats, intimate images shared without consent, fraud with victims) lead to suspension at once.
Every decision comes with a statement of reasons: what was affected, which rule, how long it lasts and how to appeal.
